Sortie Live ("sortie.live", the "Site", the "Service") is operated by ZeroShare LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Service.
Sortie Live is a public, read-only conflict data visualization tool. We do not require user accounts or logins. We collect minimal data and do not sell any information to third parties.
1. Data We Collect
Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog for anonymous analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes page views, button clicks, and general interaction patterns. PostHog does not collect personally identifiable information (PII). We use this data solely to improve the Service.
Feedback Form Submissions
If you submit feedback or a bug report through our feedback form, we collect the message text, the page you were on, your browser user agent string, and optionally your email address (if you choose to provide it). Uploaded files attached to feedback are stored in Amazon S3.
Donation Information
Donations are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store credit card numbers or payment card details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment processing in compliance with PCI DSS standards. We receive from Stripe: the donation amount, an optional donor display name, an optional message, and a transaction reference ID.
Live User Counter (Session Heartbeats)
We maintain an anonymous live user counter. This works by assigning your browser session a random, anonymous session ID and sending periodic heartbeat pings. These session records contain no personally identifiable information and are automatically deleted shortly after your session ends.

Sortie Live uses a limited number of cookies:

3. Data Storage
Data is stored in Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon S3, hosted in the AWS us-east-1 (N. Virginia) region. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices to protect stored data.
4. Data Retention
- Feedback submissions are retained until resolved or deleted upon request.
- Analytics data is retained per PostHog's default retention policies.
- Session heartbeats are automatically deleted within minutes of session end.
- Donation records are retained for accounting and tax compliance purposes.

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Since we collect minimal personal data and do not require accounts, the scope of personal data we may hold is limited to feedback form submissions (if you provided an email address).

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

8. Children's Privacy
Sortie Live is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. 9. Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. If your browser sends a DNT header, PostHog analytics will not be initialized for your session.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
